From Toys to Taxes, we have several events on this weekend’s list of things to do. There is a Winter Beer Fest, stage productions, hockey, comedy, sugaring and more!
Some activities include the kids, while others are more for the adults.

TOYS! Exhibit
Grand Rapids Public Museum, 272 Pearl St., NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504
Open during regular museum hours.
Cost: Included with regular general museum admission
TOYS! is an interactive, multi-generation exhibition of toys and games to rekindle childhood memories and spark the creation of new ones. This GRPM original exhibit features toys and games from the Museum’s Collections and on loan from the community, allowing visitors to imagine, compete and create, while going on a journey of toys through generations. The exhibit will even include a 1980s style arcade!

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance

The West Michigan VITA Collegiate Partnership provides free income tax preparation for low to middle-income households. The IRS-sponsored VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program partners with community groups to help families, seniors, and the disabled e-file their tax returns. Every year millions of dollars in tax refunds and credits go unclaimed by those who need them the most. We wish to help West Michigan families receive the tax refunds and credits that enable them to stay in their homes, feed their families, keep the lights on, and save for the future. Volunteers have been IRS-certified. This year’s income limits are: $27,000 for individuals and $57,000 for families. See website to schedule appointment.

Michigan beer! This popular event will feature over 140 Michigan breweries and more than 1,000 craft beers, as well as local music, performers, ice sculptures and carving demonstrations, fire pits to chase away the cold, and food available for purchase.

Do you have a Maple tree in your yard? Tap into that maple syrup gold mine! Join Blandford Staff as they walk you through the process of collecting and cooking syrup from the trees in your yard. Learn the sugaring process and purchase all the key materials to tap the Maple trees in your backyard! *FREE for neighborhood sap collection volunteers who would like to donate their sap to Blandford Nature Center for processing (equipment will be provided for volunteers).

The members of Panama recreate with great detail and energy, the early Van Halen concert experience. Ric D'Roses impersonation of David Lee Roth is spot on. The vocals with Roth's signature scream, blonde mane,stage acrobatics,flamboyant costumes,and party persona that defined "Diamond Dave" are all part of the show. The musicians in Panama exemplify entertainment and every performance is aimed at engaging and delighting the audience.
