    Food Truck Fridays at Riverside Park

    Celebrating their 3rd year at Riverside, Food Truck Fridays are back with more food truck action. Food Truck Fridays will be held through September.  This year during the hot summer months they will be setting up in a new location to offer more shade. It will still be off the Guild St. entrance, but will require less of a walk to the trucks.  They will start the season as usual near the disc golf course. All trucks in attendance take credit cards. Most trucks offer Vegan options and some Gluten Free option. The event is family friendly so bring a blanket and your pet, and enjoy the food and company.

    The West Michigan Whitecaps are in the middle of a six-game homestand. On Friday, the Whitecaps take on Quad Cities. It will be another FANomenal Friday. This week it’s Hello Kitty night featuring a Hello Kitty appearance. There will also be fireworks after Friday night’s game. On Saturday, the Whitecaps play Kane County. Las Calaveras de West Michigan will be back as part of the MiLB Copa de la Diversion initiative. The Whitecaps take on a new identity and celebrate the best of Hispanic/Latino culture and heritage with music, food, family, and fun! There will also be fireworks after the game on Saturday. Then on Sunday, it’s Helen DeVos Children's Hospital Family Day. The first 1,000 kids eat free! Also get autographs and play catch on the field before the game and Kids Run the Bases after the game.

    Movies on Monroe, the premier outdoor film series in Grand Rapids, returns this summer with big screen entertainment by the banks of the Grand River! This event will feature Matilda (PG) and Crazy Rich Asians (PG-13). Movies will play on 400-square foot LED video wall. Moviegoers are encouraged to bring their own chairs, beer, wine, and snacks. Rental lawn chairs will be available for $2 per chair. Food trucks will be on-site and various snacks will be available for purchase at the event. Pets are welcome! This is a smoke-free event series. Costumes are encouraged.

    Join the Grand Rapids Pops as they celebrate America with a playlist featuring “The Armed Forces Salute”, “Overture to Candide”, “God Bless America,” John Williams’ “Theme from Born on the 4th of July”, and Sousa's “Stars and Stripes Forever”. In honor of their 25th anniversary celebration pianist, Rich Ridenour, will return for an encore performance of Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue” along with the 3rd movement of his “Concerto in F”! The evening will end in an explosion of color and grandeur against the backdrop of the night sky while the Grand Rapids Symphony performs Tchaikovsky’s “1812 Overture”.

A storyteller at heart, Huff continues to amaze with his clever material and personal wit. Huff has performed in comedy clubs nationally and internationally, including the Improv in Los Angeles and New York, the Punchline in Atlanta and the Funny Bone in Omaha, as well as countless others. A finalist in the 2006 Boston Comedy Festival, Huff was also invited to perform in the HBO Las Vegas Festival, where his act can be viewed on pay-per-view.

    Wagon Rides through the Orchards

    Most people think a wagon ride is just an activity to do in the fall. Not at Robinette’s! Join them for a wagon ride through the orchards. Learn about the different types of apples and other fruit that they grow at Robinette’s. Rides will leave every half hour (12:00, 12:30, 1:00, 1:30 and 2:00). Weather permitting.
