Cost: VariesThe West Michigan Whitecaps take on the Dayton Dragons this weekend at Fifth Third Ballpark. It's Tiger Friday with Nate Robertson and Bobbleheads to the first 1,000 fans through the gate. On Saturday it's Family Fare Fireworks after the game. And Sunday is Helen DeVos Children's Hospital Family Day. The first 1,000 kids eat free! Also on Sunday, Clifford the Big Red Dog will be making an appearance.

Cost: FreeThis weekend, all fishing license fees will be waived. Both Michigan residents and out-of-state visitors may enjoy fishing on both inland and Great Lakes' waters for all species of fish. All fishing regulations will still apply.

Construction Truck Petting Zoo

Cost: FreeWould your children enjoy seeing construction equipment up close and in-person? (Even some adults would!!) Come explore the petting zoo of real construction trucks on display in the streets in front of the Main Library and the Grand Rapids Children’s Museum. A variety of trucks will be on display from the Kent County Road Commission and the cities of Grand Rapids, Walker, Kentwood, Wyoming, Grandville, and East Grand Rapids.

Cost: FreeStop by Garfield Park for the 4th annual “Lids for Kids” Bike Helmet Giveaway and Bike Safety Event. Children who stop by the park, can receive a properly fitted helmet — the most important tool in preventing a brain injury in a bike accident.

Grand Rapids Asian Festival

Cost: FreeIt is Grand Rapids’ very first Asian Festival. The one-day event will showcase different cultures, food, arts, music and more. Take part in origami and chopsticks workshops. There will also be interactive dance performances representing cultures from Bollywood to Laos! The Philippines, Korea, India, China, Thailand, Vietnam and other Asian countries will be featured. Entertainment includes lion dances, martial arts demonstrations, singers, a ninja hairstylist, and a live Asian band. There will be an interactive kid’s area. For adults, there will be a BEER tent selling both local and Asian beer.
