This Saturday is the Amway Riverbank Run. Sunday is Mother’s Day! Along with that, we have the Tulip Festival, West Michigan Whitecaps baseball, food trucks, Alice in Wonderland, Star Wars, comedy, a nature walk, and bonsai trees.

Some activities include the kids, while others are more for the adults.

    Holland Tulip Festival

    Celebrating their 90th year, Tulip Time has grown over the years to be so much more than a flower festival. Back in 1929, the City of Holland planted its first crop of 100,000 tulips and the overwhelming number of visitors over the years as the Festival took shape resulted in the addition of programs,  pageantry, costumes, parades and the popular Dutch Dancers. Each year, they strive to showcase all that Holland, Michigan has to offer. There will be parades, entertainment, food, a carnival, tulips and more! The Muziekparade is Saturday at 2:00 pm.

    Food Truck Fridays at Riverside Park

    Celebrating their 3rd year at Riverside, Food Truck Fridays are back with more food truck action. Food Truck Fridays will be held through September.  This year during the hot summer months they will be setting up in a new location to offer more shade. It will still be off the Guild St. entrance, but will require less of a walk to the trucks.  They will start the season as usual near the disc golf course. All trucks in attendance take credit cards. Most trucks offer Vegan options and some Gluten Free option. The event is family friendly so bring a blanket and your pet, and enjoy the food and company.

    The West Michigan Whitecaps take on the Cedar Rapids Kernels on Friday and Saturday. On Friday night it will be a FANomenal Friday! That means there will be Kids themed giveaways, a Kids "Happy Hour" from 5:45-6:45 pm, Free Meijer Hometown Playground Inflatables, Half-off hot dogs and 16oz. soda (for kids only), and Mascot Autographs in the 7th-9th inning. This week it is Muppet night with an appearance by Kermit the Frog! On Saturday, Las Calaveras de West Michigan will make their appearances this summer as part of the MiLB Copa de la Diversion initiative. The Whitecaps will take on a new identity and celebrate the best of Hispanic/Latino culture and heritage with music, food, family, and fun! After the game, stick around for the Family Fare Fireworks.
