10 Things To Do this Weekend: October 25th-27th
The Grand Rapids Griffins play in Grand Rapids this weekend. We also have magic, comedy, music, and Frozen Jr.. There’s the smashing of a 600 pound pumpkin, Corgis in the Park and National Drug Take Back Day. There is also an Ethnic Heritage Festival. Plenty for all this weekend.
Some activities include the kids, while others are more for the adults.

Please note no alcoholic beverages will be sold in the arena during Grand Rapids Griffins hockey games on October 23, 25, 26 and 30, 2019 and no alcohol may be served or consumed in the arena suites or hospitality areas. Consistent with policies already in place, no alcoholic beverages may be brought into the arena at any time. There will still be $2.00 hot dogs on Friday along with a 2020 calendar giveaway. Saturday’s game will feature a Kids' Food Basket orange jersey auction post-game.

Amaze & Amuse is a modern day magic show that features comedy, mind blowing magic and lots of audience participation. The show will feature comedy magician Trino with special guest magician and ventriloquist Brynn Cummings. This family friendly spectacle is guaranteed to amaze and amuse audiences of all ages. Trino creatively interweaves audience participation with stand alone stunts that wow and woo audiences of all ages. As seen on Fox, The Verge, CW Network and ABC as well as a guest act on the Masters of Illusion tour, Trino is a versatile entertainer who has had his hands in wide ranging productions from the college circuit and corporate events to private soirées and company parties. Brynn Cummings is 8 years old and a 3rd grader from Paw Paw. She has been performing magic and ventriloquism for just over a year. Brynn recently won 1st place in the stage competition at Abbott’s Magic Get Together in “The Magic Capital of the World” in Colon, MI.

Slippery When Wet – The Ultimate Bon Jovi Tribute was formed in 2003 by Jason Morey after answering many inquiries of “Are you Jon Bon Jovi?”. Slippery When Wet has played over 1500 shows throughout the U.S. alone and has traveled to Africa, Mexico, Singapore, Puerto Rico, Honduras and the Dominican Republic. They have headlined on over 60 cruises on the Royal Caribbean cruise line and played the pre game of Super Bowl 48 in East Rutherford NJ. In 2007 the band was officially authorized by Bon Jovi to perform their highly entertaining show. In 2018 Jason Morey was chosen to perform as their only impersonator to Jon Bon Jovi in the Legends in Concert show in Las Vegas.

National Drug Take-Back Day

The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day addresses a crucial public safety and public health issue. According to the 2018 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, 9.9 million Americans misused controlled prescription drugs. The study shows that a majority of abused prescription drugs were obtained from family and friends, often from the home medicine cabinet.
