20 Year Old Rockford Man Struck and Killed On Freeway Ramp

An early morning car-pedestrian accident claimed the life of a young Rockford man early Friday morning.

The accident took place at around 3:10am this morning on the freeway ramp leading to West River Drive from Southbound US 131. Police are still investigating the incident, although they have indicated that alcohol was NOT involved.

The driver suffered only minor injuries.

Our news partner, FOX-17, has identified the victim as 20 year old Brett David Riebschleger of Rockford.

Police were on the scene investigating the incident until 7:00am.
