Asia's "Heat of the Moment" will appear in a Super Bowl commercial promoting Fox's Lethal Weapon TV series.

"What a beautiful tribute to our lost friend, John Wetton," the band announced on their official website. Wetton, Asia's founding bassist and vocalist, passed away earlier this week after a battle with cancer.

"Heat of the Moment" was a Top 5 smash from Asia's self-titled 1982 album. The progressive-rock supergroup featured Wetton alongside Yes alumni Steve Howe and Geoff Downes as well as Emerson, Lake and Palmer drummer Carl Palmer. The band released 13 more studio albums over the years, featuring a wide variety of lineups.

Asia's original foursome reunited in 2006 and remained together until Howe retired from the band to focus on Yes in 2013. Earlier this year it was announced that Wetton's cancer battle would force him to miss the band's upcoming tour with Journey. Billy Sherwood was already scheduled to fill in for him on the first leg of the tour, which kicks off March 15 in Yakima, Wash, and he will now fulfill that role for all of the dates.

"Life will not be the same without him," Downes said of Wetton in a statement released shortly after his friend's death. "And words are not really enough to describe the loss I feel right now, and the many friends and fans all over the world will also be feeling. It is the end of an era for all of us. But we will soldier on – the music of John Wetton needs to be heard loud and clear from the rooftops."

This year's Super Bowl will also feature commercials soundtracked by Foreigner's "Cold As Ice," Guns N' Roses' "Sweet Child O' Mine" and Steppenwolf's "Born to Be Wild."
