Fans were quick to share their reaction to the new threads where bear some resemblance to the Color Rush uniforms - a brash alternate uniform scheme the league ran beginning in 2015. The Color Rush became mandated in 2016 and discontinued in 2018.

Here's what fans had to say on Facebook:
Noooooice! The red (Texans) and blue/white (Lions) contrast makes for a great color broadcast. Plus it's good teams playing each other for once on Sunday Night. I'm not rooting for either team to lose and proud of both for their achievements.
Awesome uniforms to lose in. Go Lions!!
Imagine this on the same field as the Lions black. Both gorgeous unis!!!!
That last point is a great one. The Lions black alternate uniforms would certainly provide a great color contrast to the all-red threads.
No matter the look of the uniforms, the game is shaping up to be a solid match-up between top tier teams.
