Rodeos tour all over the country. Perhaps they're a bit more prevalent in the West than the Great Lakes region, but they're around. That means bull riding, calf roping and all the other events. But it's not like the Running of the Bulls in Spain - expect when a bull gets loose from an enclosure and finds its way out of the arena and into city streets. That's what happened one day in Kalamazoo.

The setting was Wings Event Center (née Stadium) and the time was the late 1990 - not far removed from Wings Toughman Era - and though it seems like a memorable event, few memories seem to linger.

The question came up on Reddit recently.

Does anyone remember this? I was a young kid and was telling someone about this event at work and could not find anywhere on the internet that has any news article.

Someone didn’t latch a gate correctly and the bull got loose inside wings stadium. If I remember correctly, the bull was caught at the Dennys across i94 shortly afterward. Was anyone there?

There were a few who remembered. One person stated they were working as a videographer from WOTV-TV and remembered the same. The bull somehow made it across I-94 (Wings Event Center is located immediately south of where the interstate meets Sprinkle Road) and was corralled a block away across the highway at Cork Street.

And just as OP did some digging, we did too and couldn't find any stories from the time that have made it to the internet (except this one, now).
