Cedar Point Announces Exciting Changes Coming In May Of 2023
Cedar Point is the second oldest amusement park in North America. Located in Sandusky, Ohio it opened in 1870. Back then there were no roller coasters but 151 years later, a lot has changed.
Cedar Point just announced some big changes coming in May of 2023.
What's New At Cedar Point In 2023?
- The Boardwalk joins Cedar Point as an entirely new area of the park.
According to a press release, You’ll step into a modern-day take on the experience of yesteryear.Enjoy new ride experiences, including the Wild Mouse family coaster and revitalized family attractions, Cedar Point’s Grand Pavilion – a new dining venue, roaming entertainment, and the sights and sounds of our classic beachside resort. The Boardwalk is scheduled to debut on the park’s opening day in May 2023.
- Wild Mouse Roller Coaster: The New Wild Mouse Coaster is a nod to the original (pictured below) and features six mouse-themed cars and one cheese-themed car. You become part of the adventure as you play the role of mouse or cheese.
Each 4-passenger car will climb 52 feet, crest the lift hill and begin a twisting, spinning, and wild journey along 1,312 feet of orange track. And because the Wild Mouse roller coaster’s free-form spinning action can change with the number of riders aboard each car, no two rides will be the same!
- The Grand Pavilion: The bi-level complex will be home to a new restaurant featuring culinary items not found anywhere else in the park (plus many traditional favorites), a lake view bar for relaxation and conversation, indoor and outdoor seating plus viewing decks with panoramas of Cedar Point, the Cedar Point Beach, and the Lake Erie shoreline.
How Old Is Cedar Point?
Cedar Point opened to the public back in 1870. There was no roller coaster yet but It was used as a public bathing beach. The first passengers arrived at Cedar Point Resort on the Steamer, "Young Reindeer."
