Labor Day weekend is on the way, and if you've driven around anywhere in the state of Michigan, you've probably spotted the MDOT signs saying that the Mackinac Bridge will be closed on Labor Day weekend from 6:30am - 12pm.

That's because every single year, the Mackinac Bridge is closed to road traffic, and people are allowed to walk all the way across on foot. It's a once in a life time experience according to the people who are brave enough to do it, and while you're in the area maybe you'd like a photo of the bridge as a keepsake.

So arguably, that may be one of the best places to take a photo of the bridge. That doesn't mean it's the only place you can get a breathtaking view to throw into your Instagram story. If you're not much of a walker, you can always try to snap a photo of the US's longest suspension bridge as you drive across it any day of the week. You also have another option to get a great photo for your Instagram without having to step foot (or wheel) onto or even near the bridge itself.
