Deep Purple are bringing their Long Goodbye tour back to the U.S. with 33 dates across the country that will take place during six weeks in the fall.

They'll begin on Sept. 3 at the Fox Performing Arts Center in Riverside, Calif., and end on Oct. 19 at the Armory in Minneapolis. A pre-sale for VIP packages begins tomorrow at 10AM local time, with general public sales starting May 10 at 10AM local time.

You can see the dates below; full details are available at the band's website.

Deep Purple began the Long Goodbye tour in May 2017, but this new leg will be their first trip to the U.S. as sole headliners. They previously performed as part of co-headlining treks with Alice Cooper and Judas Priest.

Singer Ian Gillan said they called the tour the Long Goodbye because it doesn't tie Deep Purple to a fixed retirement date. "A couple of years ago, everyone in the band was unwell," he explained. "We all had health problems, which have been well documented, and I think somebody – and I can't remember who said it, probably somebody from the office – said, ‘Do you guys wanna call it a day? Because you all have got health problems here.’ … So we [said], 'Let's call it 'the Long Goodbye,' and that way we can make our decision later.”

Back in October, bassist Roger Glover insisted emphasis should be on the word "long" rather than "goodbye." "All we’re doing [with the tour name] is putting our fans on notice that we’re in our 70s now," he said, adding that "the realization is there that sooner or later we are going to have to stop." Still, he noted, Deep Purple "could carry on for another four or five years.”
