An employee at Mitten Brewing Co. was left in serious condition after being attacked with a baseball bat in which police are calling a random act.

The brewery, located on Leonard St., posted about the scary incident on their Facebook page on Friday afternoon. The 25-year-old stepped out around 12:30 a.m. (after the bar had already closed) for a smoke break when an unknown man approached him asking for another cigarette; which he said he didn't have. When he turned around to go back in, he was hit in the back of the head and then beaten with a bat. The victim was left with severe wounds to the head and had to have his ear sewn back on. A GoFundMe page was set up to help him through recovery.

According to WOOD-TV police are still looking for clues to lead to the suspect.

Even though most establishments surrounding Mitten Brewing have security cameras, police haven't found one pointed at the area where the attack occurred or along the path the suspect took.

The suspect is described as a heavy-set white male in his mid-20's with dark hair. If you have any information contact the GRPD or Silent Observer.
