Fall Dining – Rose’s on Reed’s Lake
Today's weather has everyone thinking of playing hooky and getting outside while we can. Last Friday I had the same thought even though it was a little cooler. Now with a few more of the fall colors on display wanted to share some dining ideas before it gets cold.
This weekend would be a great time to visit Rose's on Reeds Last in East Grand Rapids. It's hard to believe you're this close to downtown. Sit out back on the and you'd swear you're up north. During my visit last Friday they were packed. And what a view. There was a guy paddle boarding, several boats were riding around the lake and some ducks, too.
Some of their great apps include Housemade Root Chips - very tasty, Blackened Lump Crab meat sounds amazing, and Buffalo Cauliflower - all healthy options. For Sandwiches Veggie Wrap, Moroccan Chicken, Cranberry Turkey and can highly recommend their Housemade Corned Beef Rueben - good luck eating it all, it's a huge sandwich. The burgers also are highly recommended. Seasonal Plates include Coriander Glazed Salmon, Grilled Pork Tenderloin, Potato Crusted Walleye - yum, Blackened Mahi Tacos, Sesame Seed Tuna and Grilled Bistro Steak. Now if you really want some calories try their Mac & Cheese with applewood bacon, grilled chicken, ham, onions, corn and toasted bread crumbs - I'm having that next time. And can't leave out their wood fired pizzas, too.
And check out those views. This would be a great place for Bloody Marys and/or a glass of wine before football on Sunday. They open at 11AM every day. Rose's is part of the Gilmore Family of restaurants.
