Final Season of “Ozark” Starts Soon — The Trailer Looks Amazing
It seems like it has been forever since I was able to sit in front of my TV and watch the story of Wendy and Marty Byrde in the Netflix series "Ozark". The fourth -- and final -- season begins soon. They have just released a trailer for the upcoming season.
It's hard to believe, but it has been two years since we've had new episodes of "Ozark". Season three premiered in 2020. Due to COVID-19, production of the final season was delayed. It looks like it is finally ready to go! "Ozark" Season 4, Part 1, will debut on Netflix on Friday, January 21st, 2022. Here is the trailer...
The trailer was just released. We were teased with a "first look" a few months ago...
Netflix sums up this final season this way: "Freedom from the cartel is seemingly within reach, but fraying familial bonds may prove to be the Byrdes' ultimate undoing."
As Marty (Jason Bateman) and Wendy (Laura Linney) try to work out an immunity deal between Omar Navarro (Felix Solis) and the FBI. Marty's battle with Ruth Langmore (Julia Garner) appears to get even worse.
The final season of "Ozark" will feature 14 episodes, but it will be split into two blocks of seven episodes each. The first seven will debut on Netflix in a couple of weeks. The second half will also air this year, but Netflix has not released a date for Part 2 of the season as of yet.
According to Wikipedia: "The series has received 32 Primetime Emmy Award nominations including two for Outstanding Drama Series, with Jason Bateman winning for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series in 2019 and Julia Garner winning twice consecutively for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2019 and 2020. Bateman has received two further Golden Globe Award nominations for Best Actor – Television Series Drama."
An interesting fact about the production of "Ozark": Most of the shooting locations are not in the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri at all, but rather in the Atlanta area at Lake Allatoona and Lake Lanier because of tax breaks offered by the state of Georgia.
If you try to make plans to do things with your friends on Friday, January 21st and they are all "busy", now you know what they will be doing! Don't call me...I have plans that evening as well!
