I don't know about you but it's not a summer in Grand Rapids without a 4th of July show, and last summer COVID ruined most of what we enjoy about summer including fireworks. Thankfully, we are now getting back to a sense of normalcy and fireworks are back this year!

The Grand Rapids Fireworks, presented by Soaring Eagle, will be returning to Ah-Nab-Awen Park on Saturday, July 3rd. Like previous years, the event will kick off by the Ford Presidential Museum at 6 p.m. with activities for kids, food vendors, and live music, which will be announced at a later date. The main event, the fireworks display, begins around 10:30 p.m. Because this is a family event, alcohol will not be available for purchase.

The event is free to attend but expect large crowds so it's not a bad idea to get there early and grab a spot.

More info will be released leading up to the event which you can keep up with on the official website.

It's exciting that many cities around West Michigan have decided to bring back their fireworks show. So far the following cities will be hosting an event:

  • Grandville - Monday, July 5
  • Kentwood - Saturday, July 3
  • Muskegon - The city is actually doing a three-day event (7/2 -7/4) featuring an EDM festival, an exotic car show, and fireworks on Saturday night.
  • Saugatuck - Friday, September 10

Unfortunately, other cities like South Haven and Grand Haven have decided to forego this years events out of caution. For a running list of firework events in West Michigan, go here.
