Where Can I Get Good Fish and Chips in Grand Rapids? Right Here!
You know when you have a craving for a certain type of food, and, man, you just have to have some? That's fish & chips for me. Sometimes I just need to have some, but where will I find authentic, delicious fish & chips, a British staple, in Grand Rapids?
Fortunately, LOTS of places serve them, so here are some suggestions for some of the best you'll find.
Where to Find the Best Fish & Chips in West Michigan
SCHNITZ ADA GRILL
I've had some of the best at the Schnitz Ada Grill in Ada, above the Bicycle Company shop. Yum! Pub-style, potato-crusted cod with killer fries!
GRAND RAPIDS DOWNTOWN MARKET
Another great place is Fish Lads in the Downtown Market. They, too, are wonderful and delicious.
GRAYDON'S CROSSING ON PLAINFIELD, NE.
Many people rave about Graydon's Crossing. It's big, so you can probably share if you like.
RIVER NORTH PUBLIC HOUSE
Other fans say the River North Public House is the place to go for perfectly cooked and crispy Fish & Chips.
COUSIN'S TASTY CHICKEN
You can't forget Cousin's Tasty Chicken. I LOVE their chicken but have never tried their fish & chips. I need to because they do English and mid-western-style fried fish. Not sure what Midwest style is, but I'll give it a try.
THE FISHERY
The Fishery in Wyoming is a good choice, but it's carry-out only. They'll even cook fish you catch as long as it’s cleaned, filleted, and thawed, for $3.50 a lb.
ARCHIVAL BREWING CO.
Archival Brewing is said to have great Fish & Chips, although I haven't tried them yet.
ROAM BY SAN CHEZ
Roam by San Chez, downtown across from DeVos Performance Hall and DeVos Place, is a good spot to try.
BIG BOILER BREWING IN LOWELL
The Big Boiler in Lowell is supposed to have killer fish & chips, as well.
That's at least a starter of some great spots for some great fish & chips in and around Grand Rapids!
