Founders Brewing Company Introduces Hard Seltzers & New Beer

Founders Brewing Company is in the habit of rolling out new flavors to entice beer drinkers. They are now offering a new beer and hard seltzers.

From its barrel-aged series, Velvet Rush takes the bourbon barrel-aged brown ale up an octave with notes of coffee, chocolate and vanilla extract. Velvet Rush will be available in 4-packs of 12oz bottles and on draft nationwide starting in September.

Founders is also serving up Hard Seltzers. Mas Agave comes in Strawberry, Lime and Grapefruit flavors. Founders Brewing web-site describes the hard seltzers:

"We’ve elevated your usual seltzer by adding premium ingredients: blue agave nectar, cane sugar, real fruit juice and a dash of sea salt for good measure. With a bold aroma and crisp taste it’s a refreshing foray into the future."

All of the hard seltzers are made with blue agave nectar, natural cane sugar, real fruit juice and a dash of sea salt for good measure. The difference between beer and hard seltzer is what is being fermented. With hard seltzer, sugar is fermented in water. This results in clear alcohol that’s carbonated post-fermentation.

Mas Agave Strawberry offers bright notes of strawberry add a pleasant sweetness.

Mas Agave Lime  features the bold citrus flavor of lime which ends a surprising kick.
