Fox 17 Announces New Permanent Morning Host For Wakeup Show
Back in July the longtime duo of Mike Avery & Deanna Falzone said goodbye to their viewers on the Fox 17 morning show, now Fox 17 has announced a permanent replacement to take one of those seats.
Akron native Tessa DiTirro will be starting full-time behind the anchor desk on Monday. DiTirro comes from WKRC in Cincinnati where she spent the last 3 years. She'll be joined in mornings by current co-host Rita Ulcinaite along with meteorologists Kevin Craig and Candace Monacelli and traffic reporter Rob Westaby.
DiTirro announced earlier this week on Facebook that West Michigan would be her new home:
It’s officially official! For all who were curious, I’m the newest resident of Grand Rapids, Michigan!
Today is my first day FOX 17 and very soon I will be waking up earlier than I have been in a LONG time!😅☀️ I’m honored to be named the morning anchor. I cant wait to help West Michigan start the day. It’s a dream come true!
Ryan Cummings who had been filling in since Avery & Falzone's departures, announced he'll be heading back to nights:
Enjoying my last week filling in on the morning show. It’s been fun these last 6 weeks, but I can FINALLY go back to nights and get some much needed rest! 3AM alarms do not work well with my body. 🙌🏼
