Frog Life: Frozen In Winter, Alive In Spring [Video]
A post by the Isle Royale National Park taught me something I never knew before.
The Facebook page of the Isle Royale National park revealed that many frogs on the island were now frozen. But not to worry, they'll pop back up in the spring. Say what!?
So naturally I had investigate a bit, and sure enough, many species of frogs can slow down their metabolism enough to survive a long, hard winter frozen like a popsicle!
The wood frog can even produce its own anti-freeze.
