Grand Rapids' Brewery Vivant is releasing a new beer to benefit Women's Resource Center.

Women's Resource Center is a nonprofit that's been working in Grand Rapids since 1973 to offer programs and services to educate and empower women to workplace success. Their goal is to purposefully transform the employment outcomes for all women - and they're expanding!

Women's Resource Center's Propel Campaign to Support Expansion

WRC is preparing to relocate to a new headquarters at 816 Madison Ave. SE, Grand Rapids Business Journal Reports. With its Propel campaign, WRC is planning to invest nearly $2 million in their new home, while also funding program expansion and investing in their endowment.

Sandra Gaddy, CEO of WRC, tells GRBJ,

We simply lack the space necessary to offer a full range of programs as the demand for our services increases. The campaign will allow us to be able to serve more than 700 women each year and offer more diverse and enhanced services and programs in our new space... Location matters. The new location will provide us closer proximity to many of the women we’re serving and provide access to services for those we’re currently not yet reaching.

Brewery Vivant Collaborates with Women's Resource Center on New Stout

Brewery Vivant co-owner Kris Spaulding is co-chair of WRC's Propel Campaign. The collaboration has lead to a new Vivant brew called "We're On A Roll".

Vivant shared a description of the new beer to Facebook.

We’re On a Roll! - A Tootsie Roll Stout. This stout has big notes of chocolate and caramel with a creamy mouthfeel from the addition of rolled oats and the decadent amount of real Tootsie Rolls that were added to the boil. A candy lover's delight, it comes in at 6.0% ABV.

 

A portion of every pint sold is going to Women's Resource Center.
