Grand Rapids Driver Confuses In-Store Pickup and Curbside At Dunham’s Sports
Don’t you hate it when you go to pick something at the drive thru only to realize… there is no drive thru? Or maybe you think you can find curbside, only to find yourself INSIDE the store?
That’s seems to be what happened Monday morning at the Dunham's Sports store located at The Centerpoint Mall in Wyoming.
The sports outlet store located just off 28th street near the woodland mall, found itself with an unexpected visitor inside it's doors on Monday July 18th, causing a temporary closure of the store: an abandoned grey Hyundai car.
A popular post from the Grand Rapids page on reddit shows a grey Hyundai vehicle parked inside the front doorway of the store, where several users made the joke about this being an obviously bad place to park.
If you stop by the store now, you'll find they're currently closed while they investigate just why this abandoned vehicle was inside their store this morning.
Why did someone crash into the store?
At this time no official statement has been released from the store or the police, but several employees in surrounding stores say that area police came by asking questions this morning as they opened. They thought it could be in suspicion that the vehicle was a part of a theft attempt, rather than just an unfortunate parking spot.
However, since the car is a Hyundai, it's one of the models that Grand Rapids police have pointed out as being easy to steal. After a rash of Kia and Hyundai thefts in the area, and teenagers who have dubbed themselves the Kia Boyz and Girlz stealing Kias to joy ride, there is a chance this car could be stolen.
When will Dunhams be open again?
A sign at the store indicates that they will be closed until they have time to inventory and investigate, but as of Monday afternoon, there is no official reopening time.
Until then, you can visit one of their other locations.
