Here Are Three Free Concerts In Grand Rapids This Summer
Live music is back in Grand Rapids. Venues are scheduling performances for your entertainment. They also want your money. How about a free concert? Three free concerts have been scheduled at the GRAM.
The Grand Rapids Art Museum has slated 3 different shows. They are:
- Thursday, July 29 from 6p-9p. Djangoponique with Via & The Playboys
- Thursday, August 5 from 6p-9p. JRob + Bedrock With Hollywood Makeout
- Thursday, August 12 from 6p-9p. Laura Rain and The Caesars
The GRAM wants to fill your Thursday nights with free outdoor live music, hands-on artmaking, food trucks, and a cash bar. They say, "Come for the music, stay for the art."
The GRAM is located downtown Grand Rapids.
GRAM Communications Manager Elizabeth Payne told The Rapidian,
"We’re thrilled for free summer concerts to return to the Grand Rapids Art Museum’s terrace this summer. It is part of the Museum’s ongoing commitment to provide free and accessible experiences for our community year-round."
Grand Rapids Art Museum features over 5000 pieces of art including American and European 19th and 20th-century painting and sculpture and more than 3,000 works on paper. GRAM also has a growing collection of design and manufacturing pieces as a nod to Grand Rapids furniture history.
Concert guests are invited inside the galleries to explore the exhibitions on view during the summer months, including American Perspectives: Stories from the American Folk Art Museum, A Summer Potluck: Stephen Frykholm’s Picnic Posters, Design Highlights from the Permanent Collection, and rotating works from the Permanent Collection.
