Whether it's medicinal or recreational, cannabis is big business! The recreational use of marijuana is now legal in 15 states. And there are only three states in the U.S. where it is still neither legal recreationally nor offered medicinally. So where does Michigan rank as a stoned state?

According to BestLifeOnline.com, Michigan has a stoner index of 46.16. That means we are ranked 12 out of 50. Yep, top 15! BestLifeOnline used many metrics to compile their list. Here's how they tabulated things in Michigan:

Medicinal use: Yes

Recreational use: Yes

Adult cannabis users per 100,000 people: 18,910

2022 projected medicinal sales: $698 million

2022 projected recreational sales: $663 million

2022 projected total sales per 100,000 people: $13.6 million

On December 4, 2020, The U.S. House of Representatives passed a landmark bill decriminalizing marijuana on the federal level.

You might be guessing that California is the most stoned state. You'd be incorrect. That distinction belongs to Colorado.
