With gas prices rising, it looks like a stay-around-home summer, and a new 'Pure Michigan' ad features several local spots, can you nail them all?

Pure Michigan Is Taking It To The Streets In 2022

The new thirty second Pure Michigan commercial, released last month, is called 'On The Streets'  and features shots from Michigan's larger cities, mostly Grand Rapids and Detroit. But the video moves pretty quickly, so you have to keep a sharp eye out for some Grand Rapids scenes.

Voiced again by Michigan native Tim Allen, the video has a theme of "how the hustle of the cities can change the course of history".

Grand Rapids Is Used As An Example Of Creativity

When he gets to the line about "the beauty of the things we create", we instantly see back to back shots of Grand Rapids institutions, the first being the brewing room at Brewery Vivant in East Hills.

That's instantly followed up by a woman taking in a painting at the Grand Rapids Museum of Art.

Later, Allen talks about how things happen "right in the heart of downtown", we get a beautiful long shot of the Grand River at sunset.

As Ferris Bueller once notoriously said, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” And I will be honest, some of the shots were of things I know nothing about, and even though I slowed the video down, I may have missed another Grand Rapids moment and not known it. So, if you see something in there that looks familiar, let us know.

And while you're at it, please feel as disappointed as I do, that the ads no longer use the wonderfully peaceful 'Cider House Rules' theme any more. Bummer. That song makes me cry.

Here's another new Pure Michigan ad, featuring some of the more traditional shots of our lakes and rivers.
