West Michigan Fest Competing for Best Fall Festival in the U.S. – And It’s This Weekend!

Just because summer is winding down that doesn't mean there aren't still plenty of festivals to enjoy in Michigan! One such event is the running for the best fall festival in the country.

USA Today and 10Best are on the hunt for the top fall festivals in the U.S. A panel of experts has chosen 20 festivals that celebrate the changing of the seasons, colorful fall foliage, pumpkins, apples, and more. Now it's up to a public vote to determine the top ten.

The Michigan fest up for the honor is the Silver Lake Sand Dunes Apple and BBQ Festival.

This year's festival is coming up soon! It's September 6-7 at Golden Township Park in Mears.

While taking in the gorgeous scenery of Lake Michigan and Silver Lake, guests can enjoy a craft show, car show, kids activities, and live music. They can also compete in the apple pie eating contest and the Apple A Day 5K.

Then of course, there's the food! Though the festival is named for apples and BBQ, you'll find much more than that to chow down on.
