UPDATE: Grand Rapids Bottled Water Distribution Continues, Location Changes
UPDATE 3/19 3PM: As the boil water advisory continues in Grand Rapids following a water main break on Sunday, the City of Grand Rapids is continuing to give out free bottled water.
Today (March 19) water distribution is going on until 8p.m. at 1635 Leonard St. NE.
Tomorrow (March 20) the location is changing. Drivers are asked to access the distribution point located at the Huff Park baseball field parking lot at 2399 Ball Ave NE. Traffic patterns in the area will be adjusted to accommodate the distribution so please be patient and follow staff instructions and temporary signs.
Affected residents will be provided one (1) case of water per vehicle, courtesy of SpartanNash, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., 20 March, 2024 while supplies last.
UPDATE 3/18 7PM: March 19, there will be another water bottle distribution event for those affected by the Boil Water Advisory. Cases of water will be available between 8 AM - 8 PM, while supplies last. Impacted residents will be provided one (1) case of water per vehicle.
Following a water main break in the are of Leonard St. NE and Union Ave. NE in Grand Rapids, the City issued a Boil Water Advisory for thousands of residents. The affected areas are located east US-131 and north of Hall St. all the way up to 4 Mile Rd.

According to the City of GR, crews have begun repairs and water pressure has been restored. A typical Boil Water Advisory lasts 3-4 days, as they flush the system and sample according to State and Federal requirements. Another notification will be distributed when the advisory is lifted.
Until then, those in the affected should not drink the tap water without boiling it first. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation until further notice.

In the meantime, SpartanNash, in conjunction with the City of Grand Rapids, will be hosting a water bottle distribution event for those affected by the on-going Boil Water Advisory March 18 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
