I went to high school around 52nd Street and Eastern and on the corner of the intersection was this party store that was always a mystery to 16-year-old me. However, in 2023, a Kum & Go replaced that party store, one of three locations built along 52nd/54th St.

However, the irony was that while these were being built, another gas station giant, Maverik, bought Kum & Go and announced that the name Kum & Go would be retired. So here were new signs being put up that would be taken down in the near future. But when will that change take place?

Kum and Gone

Currently, there isn't an exact date for when the change will take place except that it will happen in 2025. However, Kum and Go announced a large expansion into the Detroit area, as well as Salt Lake City, UT, and Boise, ID by the end of 2024.

It's realistic to think that an expansion of this magnitude should happen with the new branding attached, but there are no real plans announced beyond that Maverik will take over in 2025. However, word has spread about what you can expect from these "new" stores.

Kum & Go vs Maverik

According to the official rebrand page on Maverik.com, there won't be too many changes to worry about. The color scheme of Kum & Go and Maverik are the same red and white we've been familiar with. The menu won't drastically change as both brands are known for making their food fresh.

However, one key change you'll want to be aware of: your Kum and Go rewards points will not carry over. So if you've been loading up on points and rewards, you're going to want to spend those sooner then later.
