Free Mattress Recycling Event For Grand Rapids Residents Coming Up
Mattresses are a pain to get rid of. They're bulky, awkward, and most of the time you have to pay to dispose of them. But if you’ve been staring at that saggy mattress in your bedroom and thinking, “I need this gone yesterday,” there’s some good news. Grand Rapids residents have a chance to part with their mattresses for free at a one-day recycling event!

What's Accepted?
The City of Grand Rapids Department of Public Works has teamed up with local business Mattress Shredderz to host this mattress recycling event. It’s happening Saturday, Nov. 15, at the Huff Park parking lot from noon to 2 p.m., or until the space fills up. Bring your mattress or box spring, any size—yes, twin, king, or somewhere in between, all are welcome.
Who Can Participate?
The mattress recycling event Nov. 15 is open to all Grand Rapids residents (homeowners and renters) at no cost. You are asked to bring proof of residency.

Other Important Info
You’ll need to be able to unload your mattress from your vehicle yourself, so bring a friend if you think you’ll need extra hands. Each household is limited to two mattress/box spring sets (four items total). Please note, this event is for residents only—no private businesses or commercial drop-offs.
