Michigan's Top Thai Restaurant
Foodie publication Lovefood.com sought out the best Thai restaurant in each state. They say the joints they've found range from "traditional set-ups to trendy spots combining Asian cuisine with creative cocktails."
Lovefood's pick for the best Thai eatery in Michigan is Bangkok 96 Street Food in Detroit!
Bangkok 96 Street Food is located inside Detroit Shipping Company, a food and beer hall with four other restaurants. Chef Genevieve Vang opened her first Thai food restaurant Bangkok 96 in Dearborn in 1996 with her husband Guy. You may have seen her on the Food Network show "Clash of the Grandmas".
Chef Vang expanded with the fast casual eatery Bangkok 96 Street food in 2018. At the restaurant you'll find Southeast Asian “jungle” cuisine remixed with American flair.
Lovefood describes the Asian-fusion restaurant by saying, "This is a no-fuss, quick-service spot in Motor City, but the menu really sings."
Menu at Bangkok 96 Street Food in Detroit
Bangkok 96 Street food serves up spring rolls, dumplings, curry bowls, bao sandwiches, grilled chicken, a pad thai roll, pho, fried shrimp dishes, and more.

In particular, Lovefood praises the restaurant's candied beef and sticky rice, crispy fried chicken, and crab Rangoon. What I think looks super yummy and creative is the pad Thai roll:
There are gluten-free and vegetarian options as well, plus specials and seasonal items. Follow Bangkok 96 Street food on Facebook for updates!
Chef Vang also has a gluten-free, Asian-inspired seasonings and spices line called Thai Feast available at Meijer stores.
