Everybody poops. It's a fact. I poop, you poop, and your dog poops in the front living room instead of outside to the chagrin of everyone. It's a natural part of life. On average, a person tends to poop three times a day to once every three days (if you poop once every three days, I want to have a conversation with you).

But which state is the poopiest? Rather, which state takes the highest number of poops in the country? Well, it turns out Michiganders are spending a lot of time on the toilet.

The Crappiest State

To find out the facts about all things poop, we shall turn to some of the people responsible for dealing with the feces we make. All American Waste Services, Inc. (AAWSI) has been providing portable toilets and other services since it was founded in 2004. They've seen some serious crap, making them pros on the subject.

The AAWSI team surveyed 1,277 and asked them two questions:

  • Where do you live?
  • How often do you poop?

Simple enough. These were their results.

As you can see, Michiganders rank number 1 in going number 2, just squeaking past Idaho for an overall average of 2.182 poops/day. I don't know about you, but that seems pretty accurate. New Jersey, Iowa, and Vermont round out the top 5 across the US.
