Discover This Tiny House Glamping Retreat Hidden in West Michigan

Did you have no idea this West Michigan tiny house resort existed? It might be because it's listed as a "Chicago" location..

I was served an ad for "Post Card Cabins" recently on Facebook promising "spring adventure in Southwest Michigan." I was curious because it looked really cool, but I'd never heard of it. So I clicked through to find out where it is.

Imagine my surprise to discover it's in Grand Junction, a place I'm very familiar with!

While I never lived in Grand Junction proper, some of my best friends growing up did! I actually went to kindergarten there. My dad was superintendent of schools for a district that included Grand Junction. When I was in high school I drove through it every weekday to get from my home in South Haven to school in Bloomingdale.

But yes, on Postcard Cabin's website, this glamping resort in Grand Junction is listed as "Barber Creek" under "Chicago".

The actual address of is 117 55th Street in Grand Junction. It's not far from Warner Camp, where I spent a lot of time at as a kid!

Postcard Cabin Baber Creek opened in 2021. In the listing they do mention it's a two hour drive from Chicago:

Across the road, you’ll find the serene shores of Lester Lake. Nearby, you can explore the beachside town of South Haven, located along a scenic stretch of Lake Michigan.

At the resort you'll find 41 luxury tiny cabins on 71 acres. Each one has a private bathroom, kitchen area, fire pit, air conditioning/ heat, and more.

You're encouraged to "unplug" as each tiny home also has a cellphone lockbox - plus a landline for emergencies.
