I love it when I drive by a park and a group of senior citizens are working out in a group, taking walks, or even reading. What these things do is keep senior physcially and mentally active which is extremely important.

My mom is getting up there in age and even had knee surgery a couple of years ago and her and her friends are constantly on the go. Both of my parents fortunately are doing very well at their age because they've had an active life. Plus, they have two grandsons they need to be on their toes for.

96 and Still on the Green in West Michigan

His name is Bernard Vander of Hudsonville, Michigan. According to WOOD, Vander is 95 but will be 96 years old in July and golfs three times a week at Gleneagle Golf Club. He has a 13 handicap and claims he's getting worse, but he is still dialed in at 95 mentally and physically.

Vander has 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren, goes to church once a week, but admits to spending most of his time with his golf buddies.
