Popular Donut Shop Expands with New Grand Rapids Location
Love donuts? Good news!
A family-owned West Michigan Bakery has opened a new donut shop in Grand Rapids!
Sprinkles Donut Shop opened its first location in Hudsonville in 2014 and has since expanded to Rockford, Allendale, Ada, Caledonia - and now, Grand Rapids.
The new Sprinkles Donuts opened at Leonard and Fuller last week. The shop is located at 1237 Leonard St. NW, in the same plaza as Family Fare.
Owners say their donuts, icings and fillings are made fresh daily, using as many locally sourced ingredients as possible.
Sprinkles Donuts is owned by Gary VanderStelt Jr. His father, Gary Sr. was baker for more than 50 years, and founded Goober's Bakery in Muskegon, which he ran for 30 years, until he retired in 2013. Gary Sr. came out of retirement to help his son with Sprinkles Donuts. Tributes to Gary Sr., who passed away in 2019, are in each Sprinkles Donut location.
Sprinkles Donuts serves a variety of cake donuts including Spice Cake with Cinnamon Sugar, Devil's Food Chocolate Sprinkle, Vanilla Spice Cake with Peanut Butter Icing, Spice Cake Vanilla Icing with Sprinkles, and Old Fashioned Sour Cream.
You'll also find yeast-raised treats, like Apple Fritters, Cinnamon Rolls, and Birds Nest Donuts.
Sprinkles has muffins and cupcakes, and special treats for the holidays too!
