June is Pride Month, a month dedicated to highlighting LGBTQ+ culture, history, and community, which routinely draws some of the largest crowds in every city that hosts a Pride event. This year, Pride is bigger than ever, with some festivals like Grand Rapids hosting a multi-day event for the first time.

Many of these festivals are taking place on the same day, so how will you know which festival to attend? Or, maybe you want to try and hit them all. Well, you're in the right place, because these are the festivals you need to know about.

Pride Festivals Around Michigan

Much like Christmas, it feels like Pride is starting earlier and earlier every year. Ferndale Pride, Michigan's largest pride festival, started before Pride Month even started, kicking off on May 30th and had three different stages.

We're focusing only on the main festivals happening on the west side of the state, and with three festivals taking place on the first weekend of June, there's plenty of love to go around. The Grand Rapids Pride Festival is the most well-known festival on the West side; however, more festivals have sprung up over the years, extending the celebration throughout the state and the entire month.
