Greenville Bus Driver Stops Intruder Attempting to Board School Bus
Students aboard a bus from a school in Greenville encountered a near break-in Thursday morning.
According to a letter released by Flat River Academy, a charter school located in Greenville, the incident happened early Thursday morning while the bus was en route to the school.

According to the letter, the bus was making a turn on its way to the school when someone outside of the bus grabbed onto the handle on the emergency door and attempted to open it. The person was unsuccessful originally, but held onto the handle, and the bus completed the turn.
Eventually, the individual was able to open the door and attempted to climb onto the bus.
At that point, a student seated at the rear of the bus moved away from the door, which alerted the bus driver that there was an issue. The driver quickly stopped the bus and went to the back of the bus, where they saw an individual trying to climb inside.
The driver "quickly intervened, using his foot to push the individual out and securely closed the door."
Police arrived on the scene quickly, according to the school, as they were "already in pursuit of this person". And the individual was taken into custody.
According to the Michigan State Police, the individual was experiencing a mental health crisis:
No one was injured in the incident.
