The holiday season is all about giving. Sometimes we can only afford to effect the people around our closest circle. While others are blessed enough to be able to give above and beyond at the end of the year to help others. And it feels GREAT to do so!

So if you are fortunate enough to be able to give to others, there are two major charities in West Michigan who are looking for donations to bless others who have less under their trees this year.

The first is the Salvation Army angel tree. This was always a tradition in my family growing up, my dad would always pick a family and make sure their list was filled. It's usually not a massive financial commitment, and you can know that you helped make sure both kids and adults have a smile waiting for them on Christmas day.

All you have to do to participate is to go to one of the many West Michigan locations that have a tree, and pick a family you'd like to help

if you can't get to a tree- they also offer online options as well.

The second charity is specifically for kids, and that's toys for tots. Toys For Tots started with the marines, when they wanted to help their communities. And over decades, this has become a nationwide charity that helps kids all over America by using local locations to make sure that the donations get to those who need them the most.
