This weekend's Breakaway Music Festival was one for the books. Another year of great times, good vibes, and seeing some legendary acts take the stage at Belknap Park in Grand Rapids.

I really enjoyed walking between sets and checking out the festival grounds. They really brought in some high quality brand activations and food vendors. If you were willing to climb to the top of the hill, the secondary stage was an incredible place to watch the sunset over the city, too.

The festival spent the entire weekend building up to an incredible headliner that brought in fans of all ages and walks of life, Marshmello. He was loud, he brought fireworks, and most of all- he got the crowd moving to wrap up Saturday evening.

Marshmello also showed his love for Michigan in the middle of his set by saying he'd been happy to be a part of the Breakaway brand since the start. He also wore a Detroit Lions Jersey on stage, which we can only assume contributed to why they beat the Kansas City Chiefs that evening in a pre-season game.

Marshmello also found a young fan in the crowd who had his own helmet and pulled them on stage, calling them Mini Mallow. The crowd roared as the tiny doppelganger danced around the stage, reminding everyone that he loves his fans of all ages.

Grand Rapids is one of the luckiest cities in the country to be able to host such an incredible festival. And, I recommend at least spending some of it watching it from the top of the hill- seeing the entire crowd forget their worries and dance the night away, is the perfect reason to go.

After all, life's too short- you might as well spend the night dancing with your community.
