There's a popular phrase, "No good deed goes unpunished", meaning that going above and beyond almost always backfires on you. While it feels like going above and beyond to do the right thing is rarely rewarded in today's society, there's a Michigan woman who is seeing fantastic karma for doing the right thing.

Dianne Gordon of White Lake Township hasn't had it easy. Last year her when car broke down, she had to walk back and forth to work every single day, no matter the weather.

Little did she know that her walk home on January 21st would be the one that changed her fate. Along her way home, she stopped at BP gas station for a snack, when she noticed a strange bag.

Inside that bag was nearly $15,000 in cash. She was faced with the classic conundrum: if you find a wallet (or in this case, a bag of cash) with no ID, do you return it? Dianne admitted, it wasn't an easy choice knowing that the money could easily buy her a new car to get her two and from work.

But ultimately, she made the morally correct choice, and turned the bag into the police. They looked further into the bag, and saw that it had several wedding cards, and realized it belonged the a couple who had just gotten married earlier that day.

A happy ending, knowing that couple got their starting funds back thanks to the kindness of a stranger... but the story gets better.

The wife of one of the officers of the police who Dianne turned the bag into, decided to start a Gofundme to help Dianne get a car so she wouldn't have to walk back and forth from work. After Dianne's story when viral, the community wanted to reward her for her kindness. As of Friday February 3rd, the gofundme has raised over $43,000 to get Dianne a new set of wheels.

More of us could use to be like Dianne, because it's not easy to make the right choice especially when you're overdue for your own win. But, it's pretty magical to see someone kind get a win they really deserve.
