This weekend the Breakaway Festival is taking over Belknap Park again for the 6th year, and the headliners are two you absolutely won't want to miss. On Friday night you'll be able to vibe with Louis The Child

Meanwhile on Saturday, you can spend the evening with an artist the entire family can enjoy- Marshmello

We'll also see Slander, Alison Wonderland, and a dozen more DJs and artists coming to Grand Rapids. And while the weather is expected to be pretty soggy, that won't stop people from having a blast while dancing to a beat. But, if you're worried about how to have a good time while enjoying the festival (wether it's your first time, or 6th) here are a three tips to take along with you as you enter the Breakaway Festival gates

1. Don't let the weather ruin your fun- show up prepared!

If you've lived in Michigan for any period, you know it we can see extreme weather at any time of year. According to the National Weather Service, this weekend may be a little soggy- so bringing a few simple essentials like a poncho and closed-toe shoes can make a difference in keeping your spirits high.

Also, it could be a good idea if you drive yourself to the event to pack a change of clothes to leave in the car- after all, driving home soggy isn't very much fun.

2. Don't ruin anyone else's good time

See someone dancing in a way you're not used to? Wearing something that you don't like? Keep that stuff to yourself. Dance music festivals are especially a place where people come to be their weirdest selves, and that's a beautiful thing. Just be nice, and you'll have a great time.

This also goes for waiting in lines at the event, and even parking beforehand. Think before you act- is what I'm doing harmful to anyone around me? If you answer yes- maybe reconsider before you buzzkill the party or anyone in the neighborhood around the event.

3. Take care of yourself throughout the day

This seems obvious, but every year people forget about how the heat combined with drinking and partying can affect you. Yes, it sucks to have to spend money on bottled water, so bring something refillable along with you and at least you can stay hydrated for free thanks to their on site water stations.

If you take these three tips to heart, you're guaranteed to have a good time dancing to two of the greatest minds in music this weekend in Grand Rapids. Have fun, and don't forget to check out their FAQ if you have any other questions
