Guys, what do you have in your wallet right now?

How about you ladies, what's in your purse?

You should have your drivers license, of course. Also your health insurance card for sure. You never know what emergency may develop.

Then of course a debit card probably. You have a credit card or two, or three, or four, way too many probably.

If you are like me, I have membership cards to local places, the Meijer Gardens, and the Grand Rapids Art Museum, my business cards, a few receipts from restaurants, and, oh yes, money!

Now my wallet is getting thick and man is it a lug in my back pocket.

My wife Susie not only has all of the above in her purse but half the house I swear, right ladies. I'm positive a woman's purse needs wheels because I think chiropractors are getting rich from back and shoulder adjustments.

Seriously, WHAT SHOULDN'T BE IN YOUR WALLET OR PURSE?

Your SOCIAL SECURITY CARD!

The Federal Government is worried about us. Seems many folks still carry their Social Security card with them, and they stress that you should never carry it with you. Why?

Social Security Administration says:

We encourage you not to carry your Social Security card with you every day. The best way to “Guard Your Card” is to keep it in a safe place and share it only when required, which is rare. In fact, in most cases, just knowing the Social Security number should be enough. In 49 states and the District of Columbia, a Social Security card isn’t required to request a Real ID. Only Pennsylvania requires it.

Losing that card is the fastest way to have your identity stolen. We all know nothing good will ever come of that.
