The Most Unsafe City in Michigan May Shock You
When you talk about our state of Michigan, what are some the key things you may think about to describe us?
Beauty, recreation, lakes, golf, raising a family, affordability are just a few. But, safety does not usually come up in the conversation. Is your safety at risk if you live in Michigan?
According to Movoto Real Estate blog, Michigan is a pretty safe state ranking number 33 out of all 50 states.
However, in Movoto's research, they found, using a complicated format of considering population (the cities had to have a population of 10,000 or more), crime rates according to the 2012 FBI Uniform Crime Report including murder, rape, robbery, assault, burglary, theft, and vehicle theft, to come up with their top ten most dangerous cities in Michigan.
So, who has the dubious honor of making the top ten most dangerous list?
1. City of Flint
2. City of Benton Harbor
3. City of Detroit
4. City of Highland Park
5. City of Muskegon Heights
6. City of Harper Woods
7. City of Inkster
8. Township of Flint
9. City of Ypsilanti
