In what one user called the parents time of “finding out after f’ing around,” there is a new trend that is going around that originated on Reddit and has billed over TikTok that could lead Michigan parents to never talk to their children again, let alone see them.

There are a lot of reasons that parents and children have fallen out, whether it is through personal disagreements, political disagreements, or a misunderstanding of who their child is and a lack of support. There are a number of things that can lead to parenting their children never talking again, but this new trend aims to put the blame where they feel it belongs, on their narcissistic parents.

As Yahoo Life recently reported, there has been a string of people exposing social media followers to the abuse that they grew up with, that they are coming to terms with now as adults.

The trend calls on kids of narcissistic parents to reveal what it was that led to cutting them out of their lives. Whether it was years of gaslighting, victim blaming, or other messed up behaviors, Millenials and other younger generations are no longer tolerating mentally abusive behavior.

As they also reported, Ronia Fraser, who is a trauma recovery coach, and an expert on narcissistic abuse recovery, said the time of kids being complacent is over:

Increased awareness for sure has made a big difference as it allows people to identify unhealthy and unacceptable behaviors. There’s also been a change in children-parent relationships. Whereas before children would not dare to speak out against their parents, it has now become more acceptable to call people out.
