According to the Old Farmer's Almanac's forecast, Michigan lands in the "Lower Lakes" region, which is predicted to enjoy a fall that's not only cooler than normal but also drier.

September & October Temperature Outlook

September will average around 62°F (over 10 degrees cooler than average according to the National Weather Service), which for some is jacket weather. October will dip down to a brisk 51°F.
