So, here we go again. I'm here; you're here. Why? Because studies like these are fascinating. Why? Morbid curiosity, ignoring emails, doom scrolling, whatever brought you here; let's first acknowledge the very serious nature of the topic. Alcohol abuse and binge drinking in Michigan are serious issues. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) reveals that one in six American adults indulges in excessive drinking. It's not good for you or for the people around you.

We've all taken care of or been that friend who shouldn't have had that last shot/glass/can/bottle and became—an issue—that everyone had to tolerate/take care of. That said...which city has the most friends having their hair/holding someone else's hair in Michigan? Thanks to 247WallSt.com, we have that answer.

Binge drinking is defined as when men consume 5 or more drinks in a single occasion, or women knock back 4 or more, all within a couple of hours. They also looked at the most sobering statistic: the percentage of driving deaths that were alcohol-related. And the result?

Huh. I guess that's not the city I'd expected to see as Michigan's 'drunkest,' but the data reveals that 23.8% of adults 18 and over admitted to heavy or binge drinking. The state average is 20.3%, so Bay City is an overachiever. Adding to this less-than-desirable ranking is the fact that 28.3% of driving deaths involved alcohol.

So, yeah...now we know who, according to 247WallSt.com, is Michigan's 'Drunkest' city. The question is, what do we do with that information?
