Cedar Point opens for the season tomorrow (5/3) and the park just announced that it's changing the height requirements for three of its rides.

Depending on your kids' perspective, this will mean good and bad news, as Cedar Point is lowering the height requirement for two popular rides and raising the minimum for another.

Cedar Point Reduces the Height Requirement For Two Rides

If there's a coaster-enthusiast wannabe in the family, they're in luck. According to WKYC, Cedar Point is lowering the height requirement for the Iron Dragon from 48" to 42".

The Iron Dragon is a two and a half minute ride that reaches 76 feet and speeds up to 40 miles per hour.

According to Cedar Point's website:

"This fiery beast leaves nothing to the imagination. It gives you everything you love in a coaster and still has you begging for more. Better yet, the Iron Dragon will literally leave you hanging over the Cedar Point Lagoon."

Cedar Point has also set a new minimum height requirement for SlingShot, reducing it from 48" to 44".

If you're planning a visit, remember that SlingShot is not included with admission, a separate fee is required.

Riders are strapped into a capsule and rocket straight up into the sky, reaching heights up to 360 feet, at speeds up to 62 miles per hour.

Cedar Point Increase Height Requirement For One Ride

The park is increasing the height requirement to ride Troika from 50" to 54" for guests who want to ride alone. For riders who are accompanied, the height requirement remains unchanged at 42".

Troika's three arms each hold seven gondolas for people to be whipped around in.

Cedar Point Top Thrill 2 Update

As Cedar Point gets ready for a new season, the park has announced that Top Thrill 2 will be up and running after a rocky start last year.
