Good restaurants never die in our memory.

Plenty of amazing food staples have come and gone in the Grand Rapids community.

There is an uproar on Reddit to resurrect them all. In honor of the spooky season (the best time to resurrect anything), I say we resurrect them immediately.

Which Restaurants Should Be Resurrected In Grand Rapids?

In a Grand Rapids Reddit thread, users are sharing their love for restaurants that have left the city but not our hearts.

"While Grand Rapids food scene has continued to improve over the years, there are some gems that fell to the wayside and had to close their doors. Whether that be due to COVID, poor management, or the owners wanting to be down with the business. Which would you like to see return or maybe just try one last time?"

Grand Rapids Restaurant Resurrection

Many restaurants were shared on this Reddit thread but here are the top contenders for restaurant resurrection.

The Original Gaia's - "The new one is ok, I guess, but the food hits differently, and I preferred the old crusty building to the new kinfolk insta-girl vibe."

Mr. Gyro - "Every other Gyro I've had in town isn't the same."

Johnny B'z - "While we're at it make me young enough to close bars and go there too."

Red Hot Inn - "It was more than just the hot dogs. You would often see people meeting there for coffee, it was just a good neighborhood spot. Growing up I used to go there with my grandparents and my parents, then they took my child there."

Skywalk Deli - "The food was good. Nothing that made my pants tight. It was this little hidden gem that downtown doesn't really have that many of."

Marie Catribs - "And it's not close. The food and care was exceptional, and I loved when she would bring snacks to those waiting in line. But above all, the service from the cooks and wait staff was SUPERB. They genuinely seemed to care about the experience of all they helped. I ate there 2-3 times a week, and I can't think I've heard of anyone having a bad experience."
