Did You See Who Visited Michigan’s Famous Grand Hotel?
It was a very big weekend at Mackinac Island's Grand Hotel last week.
Fans of the cult classic, "Somewhere in Time", got to spend a whole weekend at Michigan's famous hotel. A weekend dedicated to the 1980s film of the same name that was shot at The Grand Hotel and starred Jane Seymour and the late Christopher Reeve.
And, there was a very special guest in attendance for this year's event...the film's very own star, Jane Seymour!
Somewhere in Time
Having never seen the film myself, I know Jane Seymour a bit better for her many years spent as Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman. So of course, I had to look up what the movie was about. According to IMDB, "A Chicago playwright uses self-hypnosis to travel back in time and meet the actress whose vintage portrait in a grand hotel." Christopher Reeve is the playwright and Jane Seymour is the actress whom he travels back in time to see, so it's kind of a period piece. I'm intrigued, and I'll have to give it a watch.
Jane Seymour Spends the Weekend at Mackinac Island's Grand Hotel
According to MLive, this was the first "Somewhere in Time" weekend that Jane Seymour has attended since 2019. And it seems like Seymour and the guests in attendance really enjoyed themselves.
Jane Seymour and guests alike dressed in long, sweeping gowns reminiscent of what her character, Elise McKenna, wore in the film.
Jane Seymour was serving looks upon looks, and so were the guests.
Jane remarked on her Facebook page that she had a wonderful time and that it was so nice to have so many people come together over their love of this movie.
If you missed this year's event, perhaps you'll be able to be in attendance next time.
I love the fact that the film was shot at Mackinac Island's Grand Hotel. Check out some other films and TV shows that have been shot in Michigan, below.
