Jeffrey Willis Charged With the Kidnapping and Murder of Jessica Heeringa
Muskegon County Prosecutor DJ Hilson held press conference Tuesday morning, announcing that Jeffrey Willis is being charged with the kidnapping and murder of Jessica Heeringa.
Heeringa went missing in April of 2013 from the gas station where she worked in Norton Shores.
Willis was named a person of interest in her disappearance after being arrested for the attempted abduction of a teenage girl in Muskegon County back in April of 2016. Willis has also been charged with the murder of Rebekah Bletsch. In addition to the kidnapping and murder charges, Willis has been charged with multiple crimes involving child pornography and firearms.
Willis' cousin, Kevin Bluhm, has also been charged as an accessory after the fact in the kidnapping and murder of Heeringa.
When asked if investigators had found Jessica's body, Hilson said that they are actively pursuing any and all leads to find her body. He would not comment on how close they feel they are to finding her.
When asked about motive for the crimes, Hilson simply stated, "Mr. Willis is a monster."
