Kentuckians Planning a Protest of Monday’s Solar Eclipse – Not Even Kidding
A new group, called the "Kentuckians for Coal", have issued a press release that they will be protesting the solar eclipse on Monday in Hopkinsville, KY. That's the epicenter of Monday's eclipse, where they'll get complete coverage of the sun. And this pisses them off, as they feel the eclipse has gotten too much publicity.
You read that right. The eclipse is too popular a topic, and that pisses them off. They feel it detracts from any focus on coal.
This is not a drill.
If you'd like to protest on Monday, too...they've compiled a nice list of slogans for you to chant and scream at confused people. Here are some of my favorites:
- The Solar Industry Is Modernizing Us Out of Jobs!
- Still Think Solar Makes Sense?
- This much time and money spent for 2 minutes and 40 seconds
- That's what she said!
- Pray for Rain!
- You Can't Always Count on the Sun!
- Boycott the Eclipse!
There are more, and some of them are fun, too. But the important thing is to make sure to protest against the solar system for the poor planning that puts the moon in between us and the sun...once every few years, or whatever. How could we possibly depend on that for anything?
In case you're wondering, this group seems to have come together just for this event.
It goes to show, that people have gotten to the point that we'll freaking protest ANYTHING. Don't enjoy it, we must HATE IT!!!!!
